Organise your bird loving party to join us on a journey to one of the most unique and isolated destinations to observe thousands of sea birds in their natural habitat.
Marvel at the honeymooners - the oyster catchers who never leave each other’s side - bright red beaks in stark contrast to the white sands of the Abrolhos. Button quails and crakes nest under the dry island vegetation. Unique to the Abrolhos are the quiet unassuming Lesser Noddys. Sit peacefully at sunset to marvel at them coming into roost - their only other nesting place outside Australia is in the Seychelles. Thousands of terns (roseate, crested and sooty) and other migratory birds use the islands as a pit stop on their long arduous journey across the globe. Greenshanks, godwits, sandpipers, knots and stints cover the sandy island shores. Resident ospreys build huge nests for their young from foraging for sticks and marine flotsam and jetsam.
The Abrolhos is an ornithologist paradise as well as the avid photographers dream come true with the stunning sunsets and sunrises which are a highlight to your mornings and afternoons, free of charge.
